Smith, pastor of the Free Methodist church in Des Moines. Mrs. Fred Reeve sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “In the Sweet Bye and Bye,” accompanied by Mrs. Roland Luther.

Clarrisa Arvilla Griffin was born in Jackson, Livingston county, Mich., Nov. 7, 1839 and died Dec. 30, 1926 at the age of 87 years. The early part of her life was spent in Michigan and in the year of 1859 she was united in marriage with James M. Cook at Albion, Mich. To this union were born three children, Addie E. Ewing, deceased, Bertha Eaton, of Dallas, Ore., and Bert Cook, deceased.
When the children were small they moved to Lake Crystal, Minn., where they lived for many years. In the year of 1902 they came to Newton, Ia., to make their home near their daughters, who had already located here. Mr. Cook died in 1905.
After several years she was united in marriage to George A. Drew, of Newton and after eight years she again became a widow. For a short time she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Eaton, of Salem, Ore., later returning to Newton, where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Mrs. Drew was a member of the Free Methodist church, of which she was a devoted member and worker until the time of her death.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Eaton, four grandchildren, Mrs. A. R. Home of Winnipeg, Canada, Miss Bertha Ewing of Newton, Mrs. W. R. Arnold of Nelson, Neb., and S. A. Ewing and five grandchildren of Waterloo, Ia.
