Suicide – Coroner Newell was summoned to Monroe last Thursday to hold on inquest over the remains of a man named S. Christison, who had hung himself. From the evidence, it seems that the deceased was a Dane about 40 years of age and of quite intemperate habits. He used to keep a saloon in town but had sold it out and agreed not to re-enter business there. Recently, however, he has been arranging to go into business again. An injunction suit was brought against him to restrain him from it. This, with other litigation in which he was involved, so affected him that he was led to take his life in the manner above stated.
