Mrs. Floyd Ballard Rites Conducted at Prairie City
Prairie City – Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd Burdette (Rae) Ballard, 81, were conducted Monday afternoon at the Prairie City Methodist Church.
The Rev. James Scheckler conducted the services. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. Ballard died Saturday at the General Hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband, Floyd Burdette (Burt), and a sister, Mrs. Marie Cole, of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her first husband John Waddell, a son and her parents.
She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and the WSCS at Prairie City.
The daughter of E. C. and Sarah Webb, she was born July 18, 1885 at Prairie City.
She was married to John Waddell, Dec. 25, 1914 in Indianola. He died in July 1917. She married Floyd Burdett Ballard, February 16, 1921 in Lynnville.
Pallbearers were Raymond Romick, Hubert Elrod, Hugh Webb, Sam Buckingham, John Elrod and Wilbur Dietrich. (Waddell should be Waddle)
