Everett Shaw, Former County Resident, Dies
Everett Alton Shaw, 61, a former resident of Jasper County, died Monday at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Arnold’s Highland Park Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Graveside rites will be conducted by Elder Robert Mosher of Monroe at the Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Isabelle; a son, James Alton Shaw of Glenwood; five sisters, Mrs. Ray (Leona) Bleakney of Newton, Mrs. Sam (Odessa) Pritchard of Des Moines, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Huggins of Texas, Mrs. Ralph (Wilma) Agar of Newton and Mrs. Howard (Imogene) Lawton of Texas; two brothers, Marion of Newton and Norman of Colfax; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Shaw was a retired employee of the John Deere Co. in Des Moines where he had been employed for 26 years.
The son of Thomas and Ann Shaw, he was born May 27, 1915 in Jasper County.
He was married to Isabelle McReynolds May 6, 1939.
