Ed Hay of Mingo Dies As Result of Heart Attack

COLFAX – Ed Hay, 68, Mingo street commissioner, died about 1 p.m. Wednesday immediately following a heart attack.
In average health Wednesday, Mr. Hay was sitting on the davenport of his home playing with his granddaughters, when he was stricken. The granddaughters live in Arizona.
Mr. Hay is survived by his wife, five sons and five daughters.

Mingo – Ed Hays was born in Pennsylvania on Jan. 16, 1869 and died at his home in Mingo, Ia., on July 22, 1936 at the age of 67 years.
He was married in 1895 to Miss Letty Borts and to this union 10 children were born, all surviving. They are Myrtle, Dorothy and Leora all of Phoenix, Ariz.; Pansy of Cambridge; Emma of Maxwell; Charley, Ralph, Floyd, Harry and Donald, all of Mingo.
He is also survived by his wife, one brother in Wisconsin, one sister in Florida and one sister in New Mexico and his step-mother, Mrs. Carrie Hays of Mingo.
Funeral services were held in the Mingo M. E. church on Friday afternoon with the Rev. Lookingbill of Nevada in charge.
Music was furnished by a mixed quartette consisting of Mrs. Hartley, Mrs. Eubank, Eldon Geisler and Floyd Hulse.
Interment was in the Ashton cemetery.
