Funeral services for Mrs. Debbie Trotter were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Murdoch Funeral home with Capt. Henry Nicholls of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial was in the Hewitt cemetery.
Music was furnished by Miss Verla Cosner and Mrs. E. C. Smith, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Paul E. Becker, who sang, “Rock of Ages” and Face to Face.”
Pallbearers were Harry Glass, Guy Nollen, Drank Dow, James Dow, Tom Dow and Arthur Dow.
Debbie Hewitt Trotter, daughter of Joseph and Anna Hewitt was born March 2, 1861 at Galesburg, Ia, and died at her home here on Feb. 25 at the age of 69 years, 11 months.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Trotter in 1880 and to them were born 10 children, three died in infancy and her husband also preceded her in death, dying on Sept. 17, 1918.
She is survived by seven children, Harold Trotter, Arthur Trotter, Birdella Trotter, Jasper Trotter and Mrs. Della Balmer, who live in Newton, Mrs. Elsie Houseman and Mrs. Bertha Murphy of Des Moines, also 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She has also one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Pool of spring Hill, Ia.
She was united with the Methodist church of Galesburg when a small child.
