Mrs. Maude Anderson Dies Today
Lifetime Resident of Kellogg, She Had Been Ill for past 5 Weeks

Kellogg – Mrs. Maude E. Anderson, 52, a lifetime resident of the Kellogg area, died at 12:20 o’clock this morning at her home in Kellogg. She had been ill for the past five months with a chronic ailment.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Kellogg Christian church. Rev. A. W. Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Our Silent City cemetery at Kellogg. Mrs. Anderson’s body will lie in state at the Johnson-Murdoch Funeral Home in Kellogg until the time of the services.
Born in 1896
The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Milligan, Mrs. Anderson was born July 22, 1896 near Kellogg. She received her elementary education in the rural schools, graduated from Kellogg high school and attended Highland Park University, Des Moines. She was a teacher in the rural schools of the county for five years.
In a ceremony at Iowa City Sept. 15, 1923, she was married to Andrew J. Anderson. She had become a member of the Methodist church as a girl and maintained her church membership and work throughout her life.
Survivors
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Vernon J. of Los Angeles, Cal.; Wayne R. and Carroll L. of Kellogg; four daughters, Mrs. Elva E. Hulse of Newton; Mrs. Wanda L. Parsons of Iowa City; Juanita C. Anderson, who is a teacher in the Laurel schools, and June B. Anderson at home; two brothers, McKinley Milligan of Montezuma and Ted Milligan of Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Tinnermeier of Newton, Mrs. Ralph Mattingly of Grinnell and Mrs. Walter Tish of Ames; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Barr of Kellogg and Mrs. Cora McIlrath of Grinnell, and one brother, Charles Milligan.
