Mary Jane Allen was born at Malton, Yorkshire, England, April 10, 1833, and died in Des Moines, Iowa, Saturday, July 20, 1912. We have no authority for the date of her marriage to John Warrick, but it certainly took place in England previous to her coming to Canada in 1883. She came to Michigan a year later along with her husband, thence to Angus, Iowa, and then to Colfax in 1903, where her husband died in 1908. At the time of his death this good mother was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. F. C. Hill, in Des Moines, who with her brothers, A. W., Thomas E., James and John, all of Colfax, survive her. The body was brought from Des Moines at noon Monday and the funeral service was from the M.E. church at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Pruitt. The interment was at McKeever cemetery beside her husband.
