Last Rites Held For W. J. Marshall
Funeral services for William John Marshall were held May 17 from Crumpacker Funeral Home with Rev. Orin Young officiating.
Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. Thelma Lewis was the soloist.
Pallbearers were Neil McKee, Harold Bowie, Elmer Williams, Mark Woody, Chris Vander Pol and Ralph Rinehart.
Mrs. Hazel Rinehart and Mrs. Wilma Thomasson were in charge of flowers.
Obituary
William John Marshall, 93, a life-long resident of the Monroe community, died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 1962, at a Knoxville Nursing Home.
Mr. Marshall was born August 31, 1868 near Monroe. He was the son of Robert and Mary (Forsyth) Marshall. He was converted when a young man.
Mr. Marshall was married to Ellen Lillian Crane September 25, 1889, who preceded him in death seven years ago; also one son, Lee.
He farmed in the Monroe area until his retirement in 1917.
Mr. Marshall is survived by one son, Roy M. of Monroe; three granddaughters, Mrs. Earl (Doris) Gray, Mrs. Orval (Evelyn) Mc Noun of Kansas, and Mrs. Dale (Reva) McConeghey; one grandson, Robert Marshall of Des Moines, and seven great grand-children.
