Dan Jenkins, 61, Succumbs After Lingering Illness
Dan Jenkins, age 61, passed away at his farm home northwest of Monroe early Tuesday, Oct., following a lingering illness.
He was born June 28, 1895, at Frazier, IA, and moved to Jasper county at an early age. He was the son of John and Vetura Jenkins. He married Aura Fleming at Indianola on July 15, 1929.
Surviving are his wife and children, Mrs. Paul (Merle) Reedholm, Boone, Mrs. Ted (Elma) Harrington, Newton, John W. Jenkins, Newton; Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Wolfe, Monroe, and Dean Ellis and Daniel Eugene at home. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Hawkins of Prairie City and Mrs. William Eckels of Indianola and three brothers, Ted, William and Wayne Jenkins.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral Services Held Thursday for Dan Jenkins
Funeral services were held Thursday of last week at the Toland Funeral Home in Newton for Dan B. Jenkins, a longtime resident of Jasper county who died at his farm home northwest of Monroe early Tuesday morning.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Donald Brony, Monroe Baptist pastor. Interment was at Palo Alto cemetery.
Pallbearers were Willis Van Wyk, Keith Nearmyer, Leslie French, Harold Engle, Elmo Blackledge and Glen Jackson.
Mrs. Willis Van Wyk, Mrs. Keith Nearmyer and Mrs. Glen Jackson were in charge of flowers.
Special music was provided by Ruth Jackson, vocal soloist, with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Paul Murdy.
