Thursday Services For Mrs. Madge Ible
Mrs. Madge Ible, 90, a lifelong resident of Monroe, passed away Tuesday morning at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Mrs. Ible had been a patient at the hospital since she suffered a stroke three months ago.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Henry, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ible will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Donald Brong, pastor of the First Baptist church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Monroe cemetery.

Life Story of Mrs. Madge Ible
Mrs. Madge B. Ible was born April 10, 1868, in Monroe and departed this life Tuesday morning, May 27, at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines.
She had been a patient in the Methodist hospital since February 27.
The daughter of Mark and Jane Bateman, she grew to young womanhood in Monroe, graduated from the Monroe high school in 1886, and united with the Baptist church March 12, 1893, which faith she kept to the end.
Madge was a pioneer business woman in this community, millinery being her specialty. She taught a few terms of school in Jasper county.
Madge Bateman was united in marriage to Henry Ible January 1, 1903. Mr. Ible passed away June 6, 1921.
Mrs. Ible belonged to several organizations in the community which she faithfully attended and enjoyed.
Mrs. Madge B. Bateman Ible was the last member of a pioneer Monroe family who settled here in 1865.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Crumpacker Funeral Home.
The Rev. Donald Brong, pastor of the Monroe Baptist church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. William Lewis provided the music for the service.
Pallbearers were Burton Zerley, W. C. Dietrick, Lloyd Zickel, Marvin Garland, Peter Breed and Lee Bump.
