Former Newton Resident Dies
Mrs. Henry Hillaman, daughter of John Dee who lives near Newton, died Friday afternoon at a hospital in Marshalltown. Mrs. Hillaman was a cousin of Mrs. A. S. Ladd of this city.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Episcopal church in Marshalltown and burial was made in the Marshalltown cemetery.
Mrs. Hillaman was a former resident of this county, and was born and reared here. She moved to Marshalltown with her family 10 years ago. She had been in poor health for the last year and the cause of her death is thought to have been dropsy. She was 52 years old.
She is survived by her husband and five children, Lola, Viola, Wanda, Henry and Hazel, all of Marshalltown.
Out of town attendants from Newton included Mrs. Hillaman’s father, John Dee, and her brother, Fred Dee, who live near Newton; Mrs. W. H. Wert, Mrs. Henry Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stork, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schnathorst and Mrs. A. S. Ladd.
