Lee William Atkinson, age 75 of Ira, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at the Maxwell Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Lee William Atkinson Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Loren and Mollie (Wagner) Atkinson, Lee was born on May 2, 1942 in Santiago, Iowa. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1962. Following graduation he served in the United States Army. Lee worked as a data processing manager at the Vernon Company for over 45 years.

Those left to honor his memory include his two children, Warren (Briony) Atkinson of Ames and Mollie (A.J.) Winningham of Newton; four wonderful grandchildren, Autumn Engle, Chase Atkinson, Braylyn Winningham and Gavin Atkinson and several other cousins.
