Jasper County Resident Dies
Hans Harder Succumbs to Stroke of Paralysis Yesterday Afternoon
Hans Harder died yesterday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his home on East Sixth street North, after an illness of three days. His death was caused by a stroke of paralysis. He was 76 years old.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home. Burial will be made in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Harder was born in Germany, Jan. 2, 1851 and came to this country 35 years ago, settling on a farm eight miles southeast of Newton. His wife preceded him in death in 1912.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Patterson and Mrs. C. H. Altemeier of Newton, and three sons, Hans Harder Jr. of Swanton, Oh., Mark Harder of St. Helear, Minn., and Peter Harder, whose address is unknown. One daughter, Mrs. Agnes Fellsynder, preceded him in death.

Harder Rites to be Held Sunday
Funeral services for Hans Harder who died Thursday afternoon will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home, in charge of Dr. W. H. Blancke.
Burial will be made in the Newton Union cemetery.

Harder Services are Held Sunday
Funeral services for Hans Harder, who died Friday afternoon, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home in charge of Dr. W. H. Blancke.
Music was furnished by a quartet including Mrs. A. F. Henning, Mrs. Lenora Twigg, Vernon Spohn and Edward J. Newquist, who sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Nearer My God to Thee.” There accompanied by Miss Ruth Miller.
Burial was made in the Newton Union cemetery. The pallbearers were Ed Wehrman, Henry Meyer, Henry Schnathorst, Emil Duckstein, J. H. Bobzine and Chris Hagedorn.
