Jennie Hammer Dies at 10:30
Mrs. Jennie Hammer died at 10:30 this morning at the home of Mrs. Flora Kuhn, 314 West Fifth street South. She was 51 years of age at the time of her death, which was said to have been caused from heart trouble.
No funeral arrangements have been made.

To Hold Hammer Rites Tomorrow
Services Will Be Conducted at 1:30 O’clock For Mrs. Jennie Hammer
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 at the Morgan Funeral home for Mrs. Jennie Hammer, who died yesterday morning at 10:30 at the home of Mrs. Flora Kuhn, 314 West Fifth street South. Death was caused by heart failure.
The Rev. Ross Mills pastor of the Wittemberg church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Center Friends cemetery, located about five miles northeast of Newton.
Obituary
Miss Jennie Rebecca Baty was born March 6, 1877 at Knoxville, Marion county, Iowa and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Flora Kuhn on Jan. 14, 1929 at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 8 days. She had been ill for a number of years and was bedfast most of the time during the last three years.
She was united in marriage to Edward Barton on Oct. 21, 1896. To this union seven children were born, Mrs. Pearl Galloway, Mrs. Bessie Hewith and Orville, Edith, Winnie and Edward Barton, all of whom are at home. One son died in infancy.
Joined Friends church
Mr. Barton preceded her in death nine years ago this month. She was later united in marriage with C. B. Hammer, who preceded her in death three years ago last November. She was united with the Center Friends church eight years ago and was an active worker when her health permitted.
Besides her six children, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Flora Kuhn of Newton and Mrs. Mary Galloway of Kellogg; four brothers, Ike Baty and Henry Baty of Newton, Marion Baty of Le Mar, Mo., and Jap Baty of Colfax; one-half sister, Mrs. Alice Clark of Cordova, Ia.; three half-brothers, Newton Baty of Bain, Minn., George of Swaters, Minn., and Lon of Harvey, Ia.; and three grandsons, Carl and Orville Hewith and Asa Merlin Galloway.
