Death of Ed Grosvenor At Newton
Edward Grosvenor, 76, longtime resident of Jasper County died early Tuesday morning, August 11th at his home in Newton. He had been in failing health for sometime with a heart condition.
The son of Henry and Elizabeth Woodhall Grosvenor, he was born Feb. 19, 1888 in England. He came to the United States with his parents as an infant.
Mr. Grosvenor is well known by many residents of Colfax, having grown to manhood here.
He was married to Grace Wearmouth, Oct. 12, 1952 at Omaha, Nebraska
Mr. Grosvenor was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Delmar of Kellogg and Paul of Grinnell; two step-sons, Tom Wearmouth and Duane Wearmouth, of Newton, a daughter, Mrs. Betty Crockerham of Des Moines; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Barker of San Pedro, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Bessie, in 1951; twin daughters; his parents; a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Assembly of God church in Newton. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery.
