William Gould Dies at Gillispie
William Gould passed away Monday July 13th at the mine near Gillispie, Illinois from heat prostration. He is well known here, where he mined coal for some thirty-five years before going to Illinois eight or nine years ago, where he has continued in the mining work.
He leaves his divorced wife, Mrs. Leah Gould, a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Goff of Des Moines and four sons, two of whom are managing the Gould Café here in Colfax.
The body was brought to Colfax, arriving on No. 13 Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Morgan Jones officiating. Interment will be made at McKeever Cemetery.

Thos. H. Gould returned Friday from his trip to the coast, visiting relatives there and in other states he passed through. Enroute home he received a message that his father had passed away at Davenport and went directly to that city.

William Gould was born in Beaufort, Breckenshire, South Wales, June 1st, 1862 and died at Gillespie, Ill, July 13, 1925. In 1882 he was married to Leah Morris and to this union seven children were born: Mrs. Ernest Goff and William Gould of Des Moines, Roy, Jack and Ernest of Colfax, James and Tom deceased. Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Merritt of Valley Junction, Mrs. Esther Ware of Chicago; and four brothers in Wales survive. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon with interment at McKeever’s cemetery
