Hubert E. Esry Dies Saturday; Services Today
Funeral services for Hubert E. Esry, 68, of 1209 S. 8th Ave. E., a resident of Newton for 32 years, were held today at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Paul Akin, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church, conducted services. Burial was in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund will be accepted.
He died Saturday morning at his home.
Survivors are his wife, Kay; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Patty) Trease of Newton; three grandchildren, Scott, Steve and Kristi Trease, all of Newton; and two sisters Mrs. Harold (Betty) Bradford of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Louise Warren of Stockton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell.
Mr. Esry, a member of the Elks Club, was service manager at Winpower Manufacturing.
The son of Claude and Edna Hewitt Esry, he was born Dec. 25, 1908 at La Junta, Colo.
He was married to Kay Stokes Sept. 15, 1937.
