Carl Esch arrived Friday from Ashland, Oregon with the remains of his father, John Esch who passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14th. The funeral services were conducted at Union Chapel Saturday afternoon. Mr. Esch lived for a number of years near the Chapel and was a large landowner. About 12 years ago he moved to New Mexico for his wife’s health. She having passed away several years ago and since that time has made his home with his son Carl in Oregon. Where his health was much better. He visited his sons Rev. Henry and Fred Esch and his many old neighbors and friends here last fall and had to return in the early winter owing to his old asthma trouble returning to him. He was a faithful worker of the Christian church. Rev. Sandy a former pastor when he lived at Ira had charge of the services Saturday. A large number of old friends were present to show their respect for their old neighbor.
