Life Story of Ethel M. Dean
Ethel M. Dean, the daughter of Charles and Emaline Mitchell, was born May 20, 1880 at Newton, and departed this life July 12, 1957 at Lutheran hospital in Des Moines at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 22 days.
She was united in marriage October 13, 1897, to Cornelius DeBruyn. One daughter, Beulah, was born to this union. They lived in the Sully, Galesburg, Monroe and Pella communities.
Mr. DeBruyn preceded her in death October 16, 1947, and the daughter also preceded her September 28, 1951.
On August 8, 1955, she was married to Noah D. Dean who survives. Also left to mourn are a half-sister, Mrs. Nellie Coggins of Killduff and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Christian church at Prairie City.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pella Garden Chapel with Rev. Donald M. Brong of the First Baptist Church, Monroe, in charge. Burial at Hewitt cemetery near Galesburg.
