A frightful collision occurred on the Rock Island road 3 miles east of Colfax, a few days ago. The Denver limited train struck a farm wagon, killing David Davidson and his 2 horses and entirely wrecking the wagon. The train was moving westward at about 55 miles an hour, the engineer whistling at every crossing. The engine struck the horses at the hips and the front end of the wagon. Davidson was thrown 100 feet and to the side of the track. His body and limbs were broken and mangled. The horses were cut all to pieces and the track and grade were strewn with flesh, blood and bones. The engineer backed the train to the place and the trainmen did what they could toward caring for the body. Mr. Davidson lived at Colfax, was a laborer and leaves a wife and two children.
