Death Claims Mrs. Henry Conway
Mrs. Henry Conway of this city passed away on Wednesday, November 7th. Mary Ann Walker was born in Wyrly, Staffordshire, England, May 1st, 1838 and departed this life in Colfax, Iowa, November 7th, 1923, aged 85 years, 6 months, and 6 days. She was united in marriage with Henry Conway, July 16, 1867. Mr. and Mrs. Conway came to America in 1881 and located in Pennsylvania. In the spring of 1882 they came to Iowa and located in Des Moines, and in the year 1902 moved to Colfax, where they have since resided. The deceased was a member of the Church of England, having been baptized and later confirmed in the Cannock Church in Staffordshire. Mrs. Conway has been in failing health for some years, but her many friends will remember her for her cheerfulness and patience amid it all. During her last illness she expressed her faith in the Master and her readiness to go and her passing was as one who falls asleep after a hard day's toil. She leaves her husband and many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
Funeral services were held on Friday at 2:30, Rev. W. M. Brooks officiating. Burial was made at Oak Hill Cemetery.
