Death of Mrs. Josie Conn
Mrs. Josie Ladt was born in Germany on the 27th of May 1878. Her mother died when she was an infant and her father died when she was only two years old. At the age of four years, relatives brought her with them to the United States, settling at Sioux City, Iowa. She was a member of the German Lutheran church, but of late years was not privileged to be a regular church attendant. She was united in holy wedlock to Mr. John Conn, July 3, 1898. To this union three children were born; Hazel, Walter H. and Daniel W., who died in infancy.
Mrs. Conn ended her journey in life while yet in her prime on Monday, April 2, 1917, at her home in Seevers. The family have resided at Seevers for a number of years and were well known. For several years the deceased was a great sufferer, death bringing release for pain and sickness. There are left to mourn her departure the beloved husband, one daughter, hazel, one son, Walter H., who is attending high school in Colfax, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4, 1917. The pallbearers were: Lewis Edwards, J. H. Hirus, Tom Rogers, Frank Davidson, Noah Barker and Richard Willey. After a short service at the home, the remains were taken to the Palo Alto church where the Rev. E. G. Williams conducted the services. Interment was in the Palo Alto cemetery.

A. and to the I.O.O.F. lodge for the kindness shown us in our sad hour of bereavement, also to the friends and neighbors for their kind assistance in Mrs. Conn’s sickness and death and for the sympathy expressed to the bereaved family.
