Death Claims Mrs. John S. Bowen
Mrs. John S. Bowen passed away Monday evening about 11 o’clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. William Anthony in Des Moines. The past 6 months her health has been in a serious condition. About three weeks ago she was taken to Des Moines and since that time her health has become gradually worse until last Saturday a sudden change made those caring for her realize the end was not far distant. Besides the husband she leaves four sisters and three brothers, namely, Mrs. D. H. Price, of Colfax, Mrs. Evan James of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Will Anthony of Des Moines, Mrs. Byrl Cox of Oskaloosa, Will Abram of Knoxville and David and Abram Abram jr. of Des Moines, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. She has been a resident of Colfax the past twenty years.
Funeral services were held from Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Mr. Bowen and Will Abram left Wednesday night with the body from Des Moines for Blossburg, Pennsylvania where the body will be laid to rest.
