Margaret Bowans Dies Friday; Services Today
MONROE – Funeral services for Mrs. Archie Victor (Margaret Irene) Bowans, 66, of 2301 S. 5th Ave. E., in Newton, a longtime resident of Monroe, were held today at the first Baptist Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Eldon Pals, pastor of the church, and the Rev Bernie Payne, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
She died Friday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Duane of Alpha, Ore.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Ruth) Fleming of Newton and Mrs. Neil (Betty) Larson of Cedar Falls; and four brothers, Howard Cramer of Virginia; Clifford Decker of Newton, Paul Decker of San Pedro, Calif., and Merlin Decker of Coal Valley, Ill.
Mrs. Bowans was a member of the First Baptist Church.
The daughter of Philip and Louise Cramer Decker, she was born June 19, 1910 at Reasnor.
She was married to Archie Victor Bowans July 4, 1931 at Monroe.
