Mrs. N. R. Parmley Dies Late Yesterday

Wife of Jasper County Man Dies at 7 o’clock – Husband and Five Children survive.

Mrs. N. R. Parmley, 67 years old, died at the family home west of Newton at 7:00 o’clock yesterday evening. She was born in Kentucky in 1850, and was married in 1872. Mrs. Parmley came to Iowa with the family twenty-four years ago and has since made this her home.

She is survived by her husband, N. R. Parmley and five children. They are James C. Parmley, Hattie Mendenhall, Joseph E. Parmley, Belle Miller and William B. Parmley. All the children were present at the time of death with the exception of William who is in the United State Navy and is stationed in San Domingo at the present time.

Mrs. Parmley has been a member of the Baptist church all of her life and has been a faithful worker in that denomination.

The funeral services will be held at the Baptist church at 1:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. C. H. Berry. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, February 17, 1917, page 1.
