Ruth A. McDonald Dies on Saturday; Services Tuesday
Mrs. Orville C. (Ruth A.) McDonald, 84, of 914 W. 4th St S., a resident of Newton most of her life, died Saturday morning at the Embassy Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. William E. Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services.
Burial will be held in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Funeral home.
Survivors are three nieces, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Redmann of Milbank, S.D., Mrs. Ray (Nadine) Lewes of Mankato, Minn., and Mrs. E. H. (Maxine) Bell of Citrus Heights, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. McDonald was a 50-year member of the Amboy Rebekah Lodge, No. 137 in Minnesota.
Mrs. McDonald, a retired licensed practical nurse, was born Dec. 2, 1894 in Newton, the daughter of Thomas L. and Mary E. Puffer Robertson.
She was married to Orville C. McDonald Oct. 22, 1913 at Mankato, Minn. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, May 1, 1978, page 5.
