Mrs. Aillaud Dies in Cal.; Funeral Rites Here Sat.
Mrs. Fred Ailluad, 84, a former resident of Jasper county for many years, died last night at her home in South Pasadena, Cal.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Morgan Funeral Home in Newton.
Mr. and Mrs. Aillaud had lived here until about 12 years ago when they moved to California. Mr. Aillaud preceded his wife in death on June 24, 1944.
The former Ella McMurray, Mrs. Aillaud was born July 7, 1864, in Cedar county, Ia. Soon after her birth she was brought to Jasper county and had lived in the county the intervening years until she moved to California. She was married to Fred Aillaud Dec. 6, 1889.
Mrs. Aillaud was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. She was a past worthy matron of the Newton chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was one of the organizers and first worthy high priestess of the Nazarene Shrine, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. While living in Newton, she was a member of the Congregational church and the Plymouth Guild.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George (Kathreen) Varnum; two grandchildren, George Varnum Jr. and Barbara Jean Varnum; her twin sister, Mrs. Sam Baugh of Exeter, Cal.; another sister, Miss Mary McMurray of Newton, and one brother, J.T.
