Mrs. Louie Aillaud Dies at Hospital; Rites Wednesday
Mrs. Louie (Mima Catherine) Aillaud, 92, a lifelong resident of Newton, died this morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aillaud will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home.
Dr. Arthur V. Long, minister of the First Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Aillaud will lie in state at the funeral home after Tuesday noon.
Mrs. Aillaud is survived by seven nephews and nieces and many grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and was the last member of a family of eight children.
Mrs. Aillaud was a member of the First Methodist Church. She was past matron of Newton Chapter No. 100 Order of Eastern Star and received her 50-year membership certificate and life membership in OES in April 1961.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Butler, she was born May 2, 1869 in Jasper County.
Educated in local schools, she was married Feb. 21, 1893 to Louie Aillaud who died Dec. 12, 1945 [sic-April 3, 1927].
Mrs. Aillaud resided on a farm southwest of Newton until moving to Newton in 1911. For the past 4 ½ years she made her home with a nephew, Charles Butler, at Baxter. ~ The Newton Daily News, Sept. 18, 1961.
