Reno, Nev. – Woollard Chase Bullington, 81, of Reno, Nev., a former resident of Newton, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 15, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nev., following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sully Christian Reformed Church.
The Rev. Bernard Fynaardt, pastor of the Kimberly Village Christian Reformed Church in Davenport, will conduct services. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral home in Newton after 10 a.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Kimberly Village Christian Reformed Church in Davenport may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Margaretta; a son, Ronald of Vail, Colo.; a daughter, Gretchen (Mrs. Patrick) Kelly of Reno, Nev.; a granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Escherich of Denver, Colo.
Mr. Bullington, a member of the Kimberly Village Christian Reformed Church, was an inspector at the Sivyer Steel Corp., Riverside Division, in Bettendorf until his retirement in 1975.
The son of John L. and Laura Woollard Bullington, he was born July 20, 1911 in Newton and was graduated from Newton Community High School.
He was married to married to Margaretta J. Dieleman April 4, 1942 in Newton.
Mr. Bullington had lived in Newton until 1942 when he moved to Davenport. In 1989 he moved to Reno, Nev.
