Reasnor Woman Dies Yesterday
Funeral to be Held For Mrs. John Haft Thursday Morning at Reasnor Church
Reasnor, Ia., Nov. 3 (Special) – Mrs. John Haft, 72 years old, died this morning at her home here after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Haft was formerly Mary Reka Kubbernus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kubbernus. She was born in Mickelburg, Germany, Dec. 19, 1853, and came with her parents to the United States when she was 13 years of age. They settled in Michigan where they lived for a year and a half. From there they moved to Jasper county, where they have lived continuously.
On February 22, 1877 she was married to John Haft and the following children was born to them; Mrs. Mary Bell, Mrs. Anna Nolin, Mrs. Lena McCuen, Mrs. Emma Nolin and Ed Haft. All of the children are living and making their homes in Jasper county.
When Mrs. Haft was 14 years old she was confirmed in the Lutheran church. All during her life she remained a faithful member.
Besides her husband and children she is survived by 11 grandchildren and one brother, William Kubbernus of Newton.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Reasnor church at 11 o’clock Thursday morning.
Burial will be made in the Palo Alto cemetery.
