Philip Lipovac Rites Held June 1

Funeral services for Philip J. Lipovac, 81, of 2042 31st St., Rock Island, Ill, a former resident of Colfax, were held Monday, June 1, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island.
He died Friday in Rock Island.

Survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, John C. of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a daughter, Mary D. Green of St. Anthony, Minn.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lipovac of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ann Lipovac of Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Lipovac, a member of the Saint Pius X Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He had worked for International Harvester Co. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978.

The son of Frank and Mary Tonico Lipovac, he was born May 1, 1911 in Seevers near Colfax.

He was a 1930 graduate of Colfax High School.

He was married to Helen Wedertz Nov. 22, 1947 in Rock Island. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thur 4 June 1992.
