Ethel Greve

Mrs. Herbert "Herb" F. (Ethel) Greve, 71, of 520 E. 3rd St. S., a resident of Newton since 1954, died Wednesday evening, July 25, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

She and her husband had owned and operated credit bureaus in Newton, Oskaloosa, Ames, Grinnell and Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the First United Methodist Church.

Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions to the Skiff Hospital Guild Equipment Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband; a son, John, of Northwood; three daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Petroff of Newton, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Julian of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Everett (Eleanor) Beenken of Kirksville; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Schwab of Minneapolis, MInn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Greve was a member of the First United Methodist CHurch.

The daughter of John and Johanna Berg Christofferson, she was born July 1, 1913 in Litchfield, Minn., was graduated from Columbia Heights High School in Minnesota and attended John Fletcher College in Oskaloosa.
