Funeral services for David Lee Montavy, 22, of Rt. 3, Knoxville, who was killed in a railroad accident Tuesday morning, July 10, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the Newton First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Wittemberg Cemetery north of Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today, July 13. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the funeral home.

Memorials to the organization of the family's choice may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Montavy of Barnett, Mo.

Also surviving are four brothers, Joseph of Kansas City, Mo., and Larry Dean, Donald Eugene and Douglas Wayne all of Barnett, Mo.; two sisters, Laura Jean Montavy of Knoxville and Kimberley Kay Montavy of Barnett, Mo.; and his two grandmothers, Mrs. Lora Harsh of Newton and Mrs. Doris Montavy of Barnett, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Harsh and Lawrence Leonard Montavy.

Mr. Montavy, who resided most of his life in Newton and attended Newton and Versailles, Mo., schools, had worked as a waterproofer prior to moving to Knoxville.

The son of Larry Lee and Cheryl Coleen Harsh Montavy, he was born April 18, 1962 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton Iowa Wed 11 JUly 1984 Page 2.
