Funeral services for E. LaNore Earley Efnor, 95, recognized this year as the oldest member of the Newton First United Methodist Church, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the First United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. today and family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the ALzheimer's Association of the Jasper County Care Facility may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. Efnor died Monday, Dec.23, at the Jasper County Care Facility southeast of Newton.

Survivors are a son, H. Edwin and Marilyn Efnor of Denver, Colol; a daughter Lona E. Benedict of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Efnor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, Dec 28, 1988 and three great-grandchildren.

She was a longtime member of the 4-O Sunday School class, was active in Iowa United Methodist Women and was a recipient of the teacher-emeritus award.

A teacher, she was also financial secretary of the First United Methodist Church.

The daughter of E. L. and Daisy Brooke Earley, she was born Oct. 19, 1896 in Newton and was a lifelong resident of Newton.

She was married to Henry Efnor Oct. 25, 1919 in Oskaloosa. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 27 Dec 991.
