Mary Crook Burnett Eddy, 75, of 1426 1st Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1925, died Thursday evening, Dec. 26, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Newton Union Cemetery.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the Newton First United Methodist Church, will conduct services.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Sunday.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter, Twila (Mrs. Leonard) Jones of Newton; two grandchildren, David Jones and Linda (Mrs. Wayne) Madison, both of Newton; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Wilcox of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Charles W. Crook in 1974, a son, Larry Crook, in 1945 and a brother, John Burnett.

She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose.

She had worked at Younkers and Marshall Hardware.

The daughter of Milo and Clara Anderson Burnett, she was born May 5, 1916 in Rising Sun and attended Des Moines North High School.

She was married to Charles W. Crook Aug 29, 1933 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 27 Dec 1991.
