Paul V. White

Paul V. White, 80, 908 W. 6th St., a resident of Newton since 1923, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 2, at Skiff Medical Center of heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Scott Coulter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Jasper County Historical Society or the Animal Rescue League may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Betty; a son, David P. of Newton; two grandchildren; a brother, Gene of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Dolly Paul of Vallejo, Calif., and Frances Hobbs of Kellogg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Mr. White was a retired retail salesman for Bond Clothing Co. Inc. and Newton Furniture Co.

A member of the United Presbyterian Church, Newton Veterans of Foreign wars Post 1655 and Newton American Legion Post 111, Mr. White was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

The son of Eugene and Lura Luddington White, he was born Feb. 19, 1911 in Lorimor and was a 1931 graduate of Newton Community High School.

He was married to Betty McDaniel April 11, 1948 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Thur 3 Oct 1991.
