Dale Arthur Miller, 83, of Newton died on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 6, at the funeral home. Memorials in Dale’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Dale, the son of William Arthur and Norma Sylvia (Hotger) Miller, was born on April 23, 1933 in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Dale graduated from Newton High School in 1952. He worked as a mechanic for many years, most notably at Lauterbach Buick-Pontiac. Later he worked part time at Rock Communications. Dale was a past member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing and camping in his younger years along with bird watching and playing Bingo.

Dale is survived by his children, Deborah (Allen) Burtlow of Newton, Jody Guinan of Des Moines, Michael (Laura) Miller of Newton, Jeffrey (Debbie) Miller of Newton, and Timothy (Sarah) Miller of Colfax; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sandra McDonald of Blair, Nebraska.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ruth in 2015. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 3 Oct 2016.
