Marvin O. Yoakum Services Held June 17

Marvin O. Yoakum, 68, of Russell, former resident of Colfax, died of cancer Saturday, June 15, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 17, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.

Mr. Yoakum was born in Colfax and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He moved to Russell in 1985. He was retired from Wright's Tree Service and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; four sons, Marvin Jr. of Russell, Harold Boozell of Texas and Richard Boozell and Robert Hunter, both of Des Moines; six daughters, Diana Silvia of Boston, Mass., Patricia Daso of Norwalk, and Eileen Pollak, Colleen Beckley, Mary Mullenberg and Viola Hunter, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Harold of Russell and Max of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 20 June 1991.
