Death Brings Relief
Wm. Hard died at his home in North Newton, Sunday afternoon, February 10, 1901, after a lingering illness, that was full of suffering and pain.
Mr. Hard was born in Ohio, July 13, 1854. Came to Jasper county about twenty-five years ago. He was married in January of 1880, to Mary L. Harper, who with five children, Pearl, Floyd, Dollie, Florence and Clarence, survive him. Mr. Hard was a hard worker, while in good health, and was a faithful night watchman for the Parsons Band Cutter and Self Feeder Works, for the past three years. The funeral will be held this morning at the M.E. church conducted by Rev. J. C. Willits. Lloyd Hard, of Chillicothe, Ohio, arrived Friday and was with his brother during his last hours. The mother and children will miss their husband and father but he was very thoughtful of their future and has left them some life insurance to cheer them when their paths seem the darkest. They have the sympathy of many friends and neighbors.
