Maude Cottrell Services Friday; Dies on Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Maude R.) Cottrell, 82, of Suncrest Village in Newton, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Robert C. Smith, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

survivors are a son, Robert of Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Velvia) Damman, of Newton, Mrs. Alice Fielder, of Kellogg and Mrs. Robert (Doris) Weaver of Des Moines, eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, parents, a son, two brothers and a sister.

The daughter of George and Sarah Francis Taylor, she was born Feb. 7, 1897 in Rock Castle, Ky., and was educated in rural Quail, Ky., schools.

She was married May 13, 1917 in Quail.

Mrs. Cottrell also had resided in Grinnell and Montezuma communities.

She died Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 12 Dec 1979 Page 6.
