William Worth Rites To Be Held Wednesday
Monroe – Funeral services for William I. Worth, 96, a longtime resident of the Monroe community, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Orin Young, minister of the Monroe Methodist Church, will conduct the services.
Fairview Lodge will conduct Masonic rites.
Mr. Worth died Monday at the Collins Hospital in Knoxville.

W. I. Worth, 93, Longtime Monroe Resident, Dies
Monroe – William I. Worth, 93, a longtime resident of Monroe, died at 3 a.m. today at the Collins Hospital in Knoxville.
Mr. Worth was injured in a fall last week.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending the arrival of a daughter from Washington.
Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Worth is survived by two sons, Boyd and Russell of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Merle Hager of Bothell, Wash,; a brother, Needham Worth of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Mullins and Mrs. Nola Roush, both of Monroe; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and two sons, Ray and Oakley.
The son of Samuel and Ann Worth, he was born Oct. 30, 1865 west of Monroe.
He was married April 7, 1887 to Edith Iona Lockwood.
Mr. Worth farmed in the Monroe area.
