Life Story of Russell Wm. Worth
Funeral services for Russell William Worth, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Warren McFate, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Mr. Worth died Monday at Pella Community Hospital.
The son of William and Edith Lockwood Worth, he was born January 14, 1898, near Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Clarke Rinemuth Worth; a daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) Sayre of Indianola; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Merle) Hager of Bothell, Wash.
Mr. Worth operated his own grocery store business in Los Angeles for seven years and also operated a grocery in Iowa Falls for 15 years. In 1946 the family moved to Monroe where he was an employee of the Otley Co-op in Monroe.
He was a 50-year member of the Monroe American Legion Fred Slayden Post No. 363 and a 50-year member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge No. 194.
He attended Iowa State College in Ames and Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines.
He was married November 21, 1923 in Monroe.
