Services Held For Lloyd E. Wood
October 16 in St. Paul, Minn., funeral services for Lloyd E. Wood were held at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. He died at his residence October 13, 1974.
Three children survive, Mrs. Mary Sprain of St. Paul, Mrs. Dale (Margaret) Morrill of Afton, and John J. Wood of West St. Paul, 5 grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Hubert Marshall of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Catharine Schalk, in 1958, a grandson, Kenneth Sprain, and a son-in-law, Gordon Sprain in 1967.
Born January 21, 1894, he was the son of John and Eliza Wood. He lived in the Monroe vicinity until 1934 when he moved to Minnesota and became a controller with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District Office. After retiring from this office, which he held for more than 20 years, he became associated with Red Cross in 1967 in the department of service to military families. Since that time he had donated more than 1800 hours of service and only discontinued the service because of ill health.
Interment was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota, Minn.
