Services Held
Funeral services for Wilma Lucille “Lucy” Wolfe were held Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Pastor Larry Walker officiated the services. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.
Memorials in Lucy’s name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
Born November 18, 1933, in Newton, Wilma “Lucy” Wolfe was the daughter of Daniel and Aura (Fleming) Jenkins. She married Robert L. Wolfe December 29, 1952 in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County living in Newton and then Monroe for more than 40 years. Lucy worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 16 years in the microfilm department, retiring in 1996. She belonged to Open Arms Baptist Church in Monroe.
Survivors are her husband, Robert, of Monroe, two sons, Bill Wolfe and friend, Carolyn Elam of Monroe and Robert “Bobby” (Phyllis) Wolfe of Pella, and one daughter, Carol (Ron) Wheeldon of Newton. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and had one on the way. She also is survived by three brothers, John W. “Bill” Jenkins and his friend, Gladys Ervin, of Newton, James “Jim” (Arnie) Jenkins of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Dean Jenkins of Newton and one sister-in-law, Judy Jenkins of Monroe. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews and special friend, Bambi Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter (Hannah L. Swarts), a brother (Dan Jenkins) and 2 sisters (Eleta Rodgers and Merle Roedholm).
