Services Held
Bert Alwin Wood, 72 of Monroe died Sunday evening, Feb. 9, 1986 at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1986, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Elder Arthur Nichols of Knoxville conducted services. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Tools Chapel, east of Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Edith, two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Sherry) St. John of Monroe and Deb Gildersleeve of Altoona, four grandchildren, and three sisters, Ivy Dingeman and Mabel Sellers, both of Monroe, and Blanche Brodersen of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
The son of Eli and Ida Belle George Wood, he was born July 11, 1913 in Reasnor.
He was married to Edith Koder Oct. 25, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo.
