Obituary of Mrs. E. F. Wolf
Letha Marie, oldest daughter of Jonas A. and Mary A. Barr was born in Monroe, Iowa, April 20, 1896 and died July 26, 1923, aged 27 years, 3 months and 6 days.
She was married to E. F. Wolf September 6, 1915, at Moulton, Iowa, who with 3 small children, Edward F., Claudie and Mary E. remain to mourn the going of a loving wife and mother, also father and mother, two brothers, Earl of Mason City, Donald of Des Moines and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Hunt and Miss Alice of Monroe, besides a host of friends.
Practically all her life was spent here in Monroe. She had been in failing health for about a year and was at Iowa City, several times under special treatment and gave evidence of regaining her strength, but it seemed only temporary relief and she passed away early Thursday morning.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. E. IlgenFritz. A quartette, composed of Mr. and Mrs. W. Livingston, Mrs. M. C. Cramer and Charlie Comey with Miss Emma Husted, pianist sang “Abide with Me”, “Does Jesus Care” and “Is it Well with My Soul?”
Burial was in the Monroe Cemetery.
Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Fremont Nichols and wife, of Fremont; Mrs. John Barr and son, of Mitchellville, Mrs. Cortney, Mrs. Waall, Mrs. Linnie Miller, Henry Fleming and wife, Don Barr and wife, of Des Moines, and Earl Barr of mason City.
We desire to thank the friends and neighbors for their kindness and assistance extended us during our recent bereavement. Ed Wolf, Jonas Barr and family
