Life Story of Harold Winn
Harold Le Roy Winn, 61, of Mingo, a resident of Jasper county since 1920, died Saturday in his home in Mingo.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Johnson Funeral Home.
The Rev. Glen Lamb, assisted by the Rev. Albert McMurrin, conducted the services. Burial was in Palo Alto cemetery.
Mrs. R. L. Jackson was the organist.
Pallbearers were Lyle Pulley, Albert Toms, Glen Baker, Kenneth Carnahan, Roy Baldwin and Hollis Simpson.
Mrs. Lyle Pulley, Mrs. Roy Baldwin, Mrs. Albert Toms and Mrs. Otto Southern were in charge of flowers.
Survivors are his wife, Velma, a daughter, Marilyn Ann, at home, and three brothers, Darrell of Derby and Dean and Donald, both of Otley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Mr. Winn was a member of the Mingo Methodist Church and manager of the Denniston-Partridge Lumber Company in Mingo.
The son of William Edgar and Olive Carter Winn, he was born August 15, 1906, in Taintor and was educated in Mahaska county schools.
He was married to Velma Brodersen December 31, 1927 in Oskaloosa.
Mr. Winn moved to Jasper county in 1920, first residing in Reasnor until moving to Mingo in 1956.
