O. M. Wilson, 86, Dies at Hospital
Monroe (Special) – Funeral services for Oliver M. Wilson, 86, of Monroe will e held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Monroe Methodist church.
The Rev. Orin Young, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery.
Wilson died Friday evening at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; a son, Norman of Burbank, Calif.; two brothers, S. G. Wilson of Chicago, Ill., and Will of Carbondale, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born at Delta April 14, 1872, the son of Samuel and Lyle Wilson. He came to Monroe after being graduated from Highland Park School of Pharmacy in 1897.
Wilson worked as a clerk for one year and then purchased his own drug store.
He retired from the drug business in 1920 and later became a salesman for a Des Moines feed company until retiring three years ago.
Wilson attended the Monroe Methodist church, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Knights of Pythias.
