Services Held
Forest J. Wilson, age 75, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 10, 1991, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13, at the Prairie City Untied Methodist Church. The Rev. Al Kinrade, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Interment was in Waveland Cemetery.
He was born at Monroe, Iowa, on October 8, 1915, the son of David Clyde and Mary Elizabeth Johnston Wilson. A 1932 graduate of the Prairie City High School, he was united in marriage to Winifred Thompson June 7, 1931, at the Methodist Church in Newton. Mr. Wilson was a farmer in the Monroe and Prairie City area all of his life.
He is survived by his wife Winifred, a son Brian T. and wife Louise Wilson of Monroe, a daughter Margaret Ann Pezzetti and husband Jerry of Ankeny and four grandchildren; Adam and Luke Wilson, Rachel and Ryan Pezzetti. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Floyd and two sisters, Leo Walker and Cordella Van Wyngarden. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church south of Prairie City, the Prairie City Lions Club and the Preston Masonic Lodge of Prairie City. A memorial for the Prairie City ambulance has been established.
